So this is something that I invented the other day!  I was in the mood for cheese, but I wanted something more substantial than my usual cheddar string cheese and handful of almonds.  I wanted something crunchy and more snack-y…. ya know?

 

So I went to the fridge and grabbed an apple, some Asiago cheese and that fantastic bread that I talked about here…

Apple, Asiago, and Amazing-Bread

Just stack the apple, with the asiago on top of that fab-bread!

And stick in the toaster for a few minutes!  It’s sweet, salty, crunchy, cheesy and yummy!

Spinkle a little pepper on top

You have a marvelous little lunch for yourself!

These candy displays are just the cutest!  There is so much that you can do with a candy display and here are just a few cute ideas!  This first display is so cute and colorful!  I love the mix of different colors, the various heights, the adorable apothecary jars and the colorful flags hanging above.

Pretty Pink Candy Display

This adorable pink candy table is just too cute!  I love the mono-chromatic look with all the different shades of pink!   Found this gorgeous display on Pinterest but it is originally courtesy of Project Wedding

The best mom in the whole world prepared a candy bar for my wedding as a surprise to Hubby and I.  I will post pictures as soon as they become available!  She took the colorful approach in tall dissimilar vases and the candy was displayed on a bed of moss with a tall candelabra centerpiece with jewel-toned flowers at it’s base.  It was fantastic!  And SO much fun!  It was gobbled up before we even saw it!

This dip has been my go-to dip of choice for awhile now.  Why you ask?  Well, it’s generally a crowd pleaser, it doesn’t require 300 different ingredients, a monkey on a unicycle could make it,  and it’s usually things that you have in your refrigerator and/or pantry.  My mom made it for a party a few years back and we haven’t stopped making it since!

Let’s get to it!  Here’s what you’ll need:

Mexican Corn Dip Ingredients

3- 11 ounce cans of Mexican Corn (drained)

12 ounces of Mexican Blend Cheese- shredded (3 cups)

1 cup of mayo (I use light mayo)

1 cup of sour cream (I use light sour cream)

1- 4 ounce can of diced green chiles (drained)

2-4 ounces of diced jalapenos (drained) – this depends on how spicy you want it.  Raw jalapenos work great too!

2-3 green onions (chopped)

1 dash of tabasco (I never usually put this in)

Pepper and salt to taste

1 teaspoon of sugar

Mix it all together

And, here’s the hard part:

Chill for 24 hours!

Serve with Tostito’s Scoops or something similar and you have yourselves a killer dip!

This recipe couldn’t be any more delicious and packed with flavor!  Start by caramelizing some onions in a pan with some olive oil.

While the onions are caramelizing, take sausage from casings and add to pan.  Break up the sausage into crumbles and sautee until fully cooked.

roll out the dough

Pillsbury pizza crust is a quick option and it’s not too bad!

You can even go to a local pizza place and ask to buy some dough from them!  It’s usually only a couple of bucks!

Add the sausage and onion mixture to pizza crust

Sprinkle blue cheese and some basil on top and bake until golden!

Enjoy!

Bon Appetit!  Enjoy this with a glass-o-red and you’ll be a happy camper!  Great for a Friday night!  Make everything the night before and freeze.  Pop in the oven and you’ve got yourself some WAY better-than-take-out pizza!  Wow!  Pretty freakin’ delicious!

We all need a quick go-to snack that we can easily prepare and bring to a party on the fly (OTF)!  These little pretzel treats are GREAT for ANY holiday, are easy to make AND are kid-approved!   While I do not take ownership of this recipe, since I honestly can not remember where the heck I discovered it, I have adopted it as my own and proudly share it with friends and family whenever these little yums make an appearance.  Here’s how we do:

Place your pretzels on a baking sheet (waffle pretzels work wonderfully!)

Unwrap all of your Hershey kisses and place them in the center of the pretzels

Put them in the oven for 7 minutes at 170*.

While you’re waiting…..

Separate all of your M&Ms for quick and easy SMUSHING!

Uh... The sun is out! Let's make some pretzel yums!

Any kid's birthday!

Ok! They should be ready!  Smush your first M&M into the hershey kiss and push down until it’s nicely nestled into the Hershey kiss.  If it doesn’t smush all the way down, stick it back into the oven for another minute and try again.  Repeat as needed.
